Swooning Loon Fly-Fishing has designed some really incredible fly-fishing experiences. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced fly-fisher we have a trip for you. Up here in the Chippewa National Forest we are very blessed to have an array of waters to pick from and a variety of fish species. We target most species in our water system and surrounding systems: Large and Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, Bowfin, Redhorse, Crappie, Bluegill, Perch, Muskie, and on occasion Walleye. Bowfin being our personal favorite. And our favorite water craft to use is definitely a stand-up paddle board; it brings challenge, it offers great stealthy, amazing sight fishing and blood pumping exercise. Sooo much fun!!
Home Waters: Stay close to the resort with an adventure that starts at our dock
River Float Trips: Hit the river systems on one of our rafting trips and hunt the mysterious Muskie
Backcountry: Dig deep and adventure far. These backcountry trips are for the person(s) that want the ultimate Northwoods adventure
Sand Lake Lodge is proud to offer guided trips on our local waters here in the Chippewa National Forest and beyond. When on a backcountry trip it is critical to be prepared both with equipment and education. You are expected to follow directions, wear all necessary safety gear, participate with equipment transportation and setup (we will be doing more of the heavy lifting). We do supply most of the equipment for these adventures but person items such as; rain gear, sunglasses, hats, and all other personal clothing and sun protection, is not supplied. We do have life jackets but if you are wanting a perfect fitting PFD then we highly suggest bringing or purchasing your own. All participation in trips offered by Sand Lake Lodge or Swooning Loon Fly-Fishing are at your own risk.
