Sand Lake is a fantastic lake for fly-fishing/fishing. Sand Lake is a naturally fed 4300 acre body of water that is part of the Bowstring River systems which includes other body of waters such as: Bowstring Lake, Little Sand Lake, Bird’s Eye Lake, Portage Lake, Rice Lake, Dora Lake, the Bowstring River and the Big Fork River.
Whether you want to go after the big fish of the lake like Northern Pike, Bowfin, Bass, Walleye, and Redhorse or put a bend in a light weight rod with the Bluegills, Crappies, Rock Bass, Sunfish, and Perch, Sand Lake does not disappoint. With all the bays, channels, river mouths and connecting lakes makes it an extremely adventurous lake that can take a lifetime to figure out. Sand Lake has really great structure with plenty of drop offs, shelves, pockets, and a bit of rock beds. Wildlife is very abundant!!
